Referrals

Referrals for vocational rehabilitation services come from a variety of sources. Many people are self-referrals. Others come from entities that serve people with disabilities, including:

  • High schools, colleges, universities
  • Correctional facilities and programs
  • Physicians and hospitals
  • Cardiac rehabilitation program
  • Mental health facilities
  • Employers
  • Social services programs
  • Social Security
  • Alcohol and drug treatment organizations
  • Private disability organizations and other agencies
  • Welfare agencies, public and private
  • Employment services, public and private
  • Private rehabilitation facilities
  • Churches
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • Vendors of artificial appliances and prosthetic devices.

The primary entry points for prospective clients are the SCVRD area offices.
